Room to Grow

MISSION
We offer structured coaching, material goods, and community connections to support parents as they activate their natural strengths and expand their knowledge, so children thrive from the start.
We Support Families During Their Children's Critical Early Years
At Room to Grow, we support parents as they activate their natural strengths and expand their knowledge, so children thrive from the start. Families in our program develop strategies to promote their children’s development, select baby and toddler items for their children, and connect with other local organizations and community resources that can expand their support network.

ABOUT
For more than 20 years, Room to Grow's three-year program has provided critical support to families raising babies ages newborn to three years of age born into low-income circumstances. We provide parents with essential baby and toddler items, strategies and support to promote their children's development, and connections to community resources that can meaningfully expand their support network. Our dynamic, wrap-around approach addresses the multitude of needs facing parents raising children in these earliest years and provides the surest opportunity for establishing a strong foundation in life.

Feature
The Room to Grow program addresses the following three areas:
Baby and Toddler Items - Pick out clothes, books, toys, and other items for your baby and toddler.
Parenting Support - Discuss parenting questions with program staff and connect with community resources.
Child Development - Develop strategies to support your child's growth and development.

Program Structure
13 Visits Over 3 Years - Families have their first visit during their last trimester of pregnancy. From there, they meet one-on-one with program staff every three months until their children turn three. Each visit is two hours long and is held at one of our Family Centers in Boston or New York.
1st Half of Visit
Families meet with program staff to talk through the challenges and joys of early parenthood, discuss their children's development, and brainstorm strategies and resources that support family goals.
2nd Half of Visit
Families and program staff continue conversations in our baby boutique, where parents choose the clothes, books, toys, and other items that will be useful for their children until the next visit.
