4 Children’s Books About Kamala Harris To Get Excited About Our First Woman Vice President

It's no secret that this year's election was one of the biggest political events of our lifetimes. More people voted this year than in any other election in 120 years! *pats back* And citizens' involvement went way past simply casting a ballot – we saw more parents encouraging their kids to participate too, by bringing them along the process. We were honored to see our Suffrage Heroes Collection of tees on both moms and kids alike at the voting booth this year, and thrilled to provide teachable moments to educate kids on the importance of this great civil duty and the history of voting, particularly for women.
In fact, this election was so special because of its impact on women with Kamala Harris becoming the first ever woman to be elected Vice President – not to mention the first Black and the first Asian American VP! That's a lot of firsts and we're here for it. This moment is exciting for so many of us, but particularly for little girls who can now look up at their TVs and finally see themselves reflected in one of the highest leadership positions in the world and to have a world of possibilities opened up to them and their dreams.
To help your little ones get excited for this January and to learn more about this future VP, we put together a list of our favorite books for kids of all ages to read about Kamala Harris, including a few written by the VP Elect herself – and even one by her niece!
P.S. We've seen your calls for a Kamala Harris Trailblazer Tee. The good news? We're on it – stay tuned!
